With Tauranga recently overtaking Dunedin as New Zealand’s
fifth largest city, one of the world’s leading professional
services companies, GHD, has opened an office in the city, to help
deliver a variety of water, transport, environment and property and
GHD employs more than 400 people in New Zealand and the new
office is part of the company’s extensive national presence, with
major hubs in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and regional
offices located close to clients.
Al Monro, GHD’s Manager for New Zealand, says the new office
will enable its multidisciplinary team to better connect with local
clients, and provide a responsive and flexible service.
“We are delighted to be supporting our clients with the
tremendous growth that is being seen across the region. Having
experienced people on the ground who are able to respond quickly to
client needs is a key part of our business model. We draw on our
local, national and global experience to deliver the right mix of
skills and capabilities for our clients,” Al says.
The new office is led by Ryan Orr and Nick Gurr, who have
extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams. The Tauranga
office already has eight people, with skills in transport, spatial
science, building services and water engineering.
Ryan says, “Continued population and economic growth will drive
demand for new and upgraded infrastructure in the Bay of Plenty. We
are excited by the opportunities to help create liveable
communities and a brighter future for everyone in this region.”
